Privacy Policy

Basic Policy

HACHIROKU Archive (hereinafter referred to as the "App") operates on a basic policy that specimen records are kept entirely within your device. Your records are not transmitted to any external servers, and no account registration is required. You retain full control and ownership of the data you record.

1. Data Stored on the Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Names and registration details of specimens (Archive ID, scientific name, provenance, etc.)
  • Growth logs (text)
  • Repotting records (pot size, soil mix, date, notes, etc.)
  • Photos (added by the user)
  • Lineage (relationships between parent and child plants) and Ascendancy settings
  • Records of lost specimens (Epitaph)
  • Materials registration details
  • Environmental data (temperature, humidity, etc. imported via CSV) and tags

These details are stored exclusively on your device, and the App does not transmit them to any external servers.

If these specifications are changed in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and notify you.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect or acquire any of the following information:

  • Personally identifiable information such as names, physical addresses, or phone numbers
  • Email addresses, passwords, or account credentials
  • Location data (GPS)
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA / AAID)
  • Unique device identifiers
  • Tracking information of browsing or interaction history
  • Social media account information

3. Access to Photos

To enable the feature of adding photos to your specimens, the App may request permission to access your device's photo library or camera.

  • Access is requested through the standard operating system mechanisms.
  • Only the photos you select will be linked to the records and saved within the App.
  • Photo data is never transmitted to external servers.

4. External Data Transmission

The App does not integrate any of the following:

  • Advertising SDKs
  • Analytics or behavioral tracking tools
  • Crash reporting tools that transmit details externally
  • Data synchronization with external servers

If we introduce analytics or similar tools in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and notify you.

5. Backup Functionality

The App features CSV export capability, as well as backup and restoration functions for record and photo data. It supports both individual specimen backup and entire collection backup/restoration.

Backup files contain the record and photo data stored in the App.

  • You are solely responsible for the storage and management of your exported files.
  • Please handle files with care as they contain your record data and photos.
  • Sharing backup files with third parties is at your own discretion.
  • Backup and restoration specifications are subject to change with App updates.

6. Policy Revisions

This Policy may be revised due to modifications in the App's specifications or changes in applicable laws. If significant changes are made, we will notify you within the App or on our website.
